A new year is but a calendar event. it is we who make it special.

Be it with the new promises, new starts, new vigour, new enthusiasm, new insights or, new pledges.

The best part is welcoming the new year with open arms & heart filled with hope.

May this new year bring peace & joy in all our lives.

A friend of mine told me another story.

When his (Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tandon) son was getting married, the barat was to go to the bride's pace. All the baratis were traveling in the bus. On the way the bus passed through a chungi (checkpost meant to collect taxes in those days). The officials at the post signalled the bus to stop. They went over to the drivers cabin. On enquiry, the driver informed them that the bus was ferrying the barat of the famous Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tandon's son to the bride's place.

in_cr_ove  TQMschool organised a one day training workshop titled "Sexual Harassment at Workplace" in Delhi on 18th December 2012.

The Lok Sabha (on 3rd September 2012) passed the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Bill, 2010; wherein it is incumbent on all employers employing women to take steps in accordance with the law.

This training workshop was organised in this backdrop. It provided an overview of this subject & also looked at the actions that we need to take as an individual, an employer & as human beings.

The innovation was the result of a problem unique to the channel-irrigated delta region. In the Cauvery delta, water would sometimes either flow through the channel at a low altitude with the land to be irrigated at a higher level or there would be no flow at all.  People would irrigate the fields by collecting water in bamboo baskets, which was quite cumbersome.

Aakrosh is when the long simmering anger is vented out in a surge.

It is like a volcano that erupts after simmering for a long time. Before eruption it keeps giving enough signals through hot air, occasional small eruptions that are not catastrophic.

We see it simmering in our daily lives.

When it erupts it damages the present structure of the society.

Women in Champaran

An anecdote from Gandhi's life

Sensitivity for the problems of women as the weakest among the weak was another trait of Gandhi.

Gandhi had sent a team of workers to study and report on the problems of the Champaran district. But the report they gave him did not refer to any problems of the women there "How can any report be complete without an account of the womens problems?', he asked. The workers told Gandhi that the women of Champaran were very shy and would not meet them.
